In reading the NY Times this morning I came across an article that was both touching and disturbing at the same time...A young 14 yr old prodigy named Brandenn Bremer apparently committed suicide...in no means do I wish to disrespect his death so what follows is not intended to do so...i digress...upon reading this article I couldn't help but think about the fact that every time i read articles such as this, meaning ones where great people, who transcend the crappy state of the world we live in, are the victim of a tragic end, i always think to myself that it is just another sign of how hopeless and broken our world truly is...when someone who was seemingly so amazing exits this "stage" we know as life, i feel like we as a society are simply one step further from becoming better as a whole...now i must state that i am not suggesting Brandenn's choices were made with this train of thought in mind, in fact i highly doubt his reasoning was even close to this way of thinking, i am just saying that events like those that took place in his life just seem even more tragic when i look at our society and see how he "ranked" (for lack of a better word) among the rest of us...its just such a tragic loss...if you want to read the article for yourself, click HERE...i just wish there was something more i could do...
