not many people have enough guts to be themselves without alcohol

Through relationships, both friends and otherwise, I have learned how to deal with things that annoy me. It's kind of funny when you think back a few years as to what was so important to you, and how you learn that a lot of that stuff just really isn't that big of a deal. With that stated, there is still one thing that really bothers me, my biggest pet peeve, if you will. When people say they are going to call you, and they don't. I'm not saying that I am not guilty of this ever, but on the majority, I am on the receiving end. I don't exactly understand why and after being on the receiving end so very often, I try my hardest not to do it to anyone else. I guess why it bothers me so much, is that usually, the person who says it, is one that you really would like to talk to later that night. I understand that things come up, but maybe "you" could call the next day, even if it is just to say hi. I guess maybe "you" say it because you want "me" to know that you care, but not following through, almost ever, really, definitely sends mixed signals.  (The ";you" and "me" do at certain points do make reference  to myself and a specific person, or people, but is also kind of a universal statement about my confusion about people.)

p.s. i danced on stage last night. it was fun as heck. i was completely and utterly sober. i danced like a fool, without any friends with me, and it was very liberating.
