La-de-da.
Let's see: This afternoon I went up to the record shop and spent $60 on music. Yay! I am now the proud owner of Beck's Odelay, Rush's Snakes and Arrows, Iron Maiden's Number of The Beast, Marillion's Misplaced Childhood, and Butthole Surfers's Independent Worm Saloon.
This mix of music is not entirely surprising. Well actually the Beck is. I'm not sure why I felt prompted to get Beck. It was a tough choice. I really did want some early 90's music, and I didn't know which to get first. Next month I'll prolly go buy more. I also had to make myself not buy more David Bowie and Devo. I have to admit the Marillion is so far my favorite. I had this album once long ago on vinyl, but I had to give it back to my brother at some point. Listening to it does bring me back to high school. But I am also very glad I bought the Iron Maiden. I have been wanting that album for such a long time.
Ok going backwards: Saturday night Jillian and I drove up to Ukiah to hang out with my brother and his family. My niece is adorable. She is so aware and beautiful and strong and smart. I love it. Sunday Jill and I went to the hot springs and spent the whole day soaking in the tubs, in the steam room, sauna, and in the cold pool. I haven't felt so relaxed in a long time. Unfortunately it didn't last me much past getting home. Oh well. We decided to make it a regular trip.
Friday night was my birthday party with my peeps. Even Jemuel showed up, which was surprising but pleasant. He played his banjo for me (at my request), we all went out for Thai food and then played scrabble and drank beer all night. That was awesome. Although I told people I did not want presents, Jillian and Albert busted out with two seriously rocking gifts. Jill got us tickets to opening night of the Summer season at the SF Opera. We're seeing Don Giovanni. I can't even tell you how stoked I am. We plan to get hella dressed up for it. Albert bought me the DVD set of Firefly. I don't know how he knew I would want it. Jillian didn't even know. Albert is awesome. I am glad I introduced him to Jillian. :)
Shhh. I haven't been sewing at all for days. I feel kind of guilty about this, especially since I can't even say "I've been taking care of other things". I haven't. I've been goofing off big time. Whoops. Maybe tomorrow?
We've been interviewing potential new roommates. woo.
omg. I need to sew.
