Flight is something that's really important to me, and being able to share it with Duffy has remarkably changed the way I view that passion. Incorporating him into everything important in my life has changed the way I look at things.

One of my earliest memories is walking around downtown Seattle with my mom. She tripped over some uneven sidewalk, fell and broke her nose. Blood was everywhere, and as panicked as I was, I focused on the bloody money that fell out of her purse and into the red liquid. I was five or so and it was the first time I had seen my mom as someone less than a goddess. It was terrifying.
