These are just scans of my proof sheet but are kind of what I want to go for when I start printing this week. Infrared film is wayyy different than shooting digital infrared and of course I screwed up my roll while loading it. Loading on the metal reels is very tricky because if you put too much pressure on one part of the film it bends and/or goes onto the same track as the previous bit of film. And it sticks together, ruining that part of the film. Luckily, I managed to not stick all of my film together and saved some of the images. Though, come to find out I was still underexposing and the focus was a bit off. But for the nature I'm going with for my self-portrait the sharpness isn't really a necessity.
The top is from the ruined film. The emulsion stuck together and so it didn't get developed or fixed during the processing. I can go back and refix my film to get rid of the emulsion but I almost kind of like the effect it gives a few of the images I have.
Just a terrible scan. I really like the effect of this image but the scan doesn't do it justice as it adds a lot more noise to the image than what would actually be in it.
All the scratches and dust are from the plate glass used to make the contact sheet and from my scanner. I almost like the textural effect it gives the images and I'm going to see if it'll be possible to print with that sort of texture on the final prints. I'm not using all these images for the final project but I just wanted to give a feel for the mood I'm aiming for with my project.
I developed my second roll today and it came out; it wasn't dry before I had to leave school but I do know that it isn't ruined. Heh. I developed it in a plastic tank and wrapped some aluminum foil around the bottom just in case there were any IR leaks. I'm going to pop in there tomorrow and see what I have and hopefully this roll will be better to use than my first.
Ah well, I guess I should go work on studying for biology and get some English work done.
