Sunny for scale. Haha.
We've only actually gotten a few things completely finished. I only glazed and raku'd four of my 10? pinch pots and believe me when I say they are so not the cutest things...ever. And the bad thing about glazing and raku'ing is we have to leave 1/4" of an inch from the bottom waxed so the pots don't stick therefore the raku (which you can read about
here) turns the unglazed portions of the pots black. It isn't always a cute look.
On we go.
Clear crackle over turquoise.
It also has a sort of ... leaf carving on it that you can't really see. :/
A close-up of the above pot.
What was called sand-something and clear crackle.
Turquoise over copper patina.
This is possibly the ugliest thing I have ever made in my life. :O
Turquiose on one side and copper patina on the other.
It is actually upside down. I may make a little metal holder for it or...just throw it against a wall. Ya know...
So far in ceramics, I've finished my coil pot, one of two casserole dishes, two plates, 8-10 pinch pots, and we are now working on slab bottles. I may end up making three slab bottles if I have time or if I feel like it. It all depends on how time works out with this class and all my other ones. Ah well.
I can also post some...better lit pictures of the pots if anyone cares. :)
Oooh. I almost forgot. Our pit fire. Whoosh.
This is what we fired our coil pots in, so my pretty orange and purple pot may turn black in places. D:
I think that's it. Oh, if for some reason you missed it, my
previous post has some infrared images in it. *cough*
