Places visited:
Sunday
Jetrag, Venice Beach
Monday
Disneyland
Tuesday
Fashion District, California Market, Koreatown, LACMA, La Brea Tar Pits
We woke up early Sunday to hit up a $1 sidewalk sale at this thrift store called Jetrag. Unfortunately, most of the stuff they had was really gross and old / not what we were thinking, but I did manage to find an awesome security guard shirt inside. Haha.
Venice Beach!
This water is very deceiving. It's like putting your body in an ice chest.
Robert's skinny ass and his friend Alanna, who is from Hawaii and is cracked and adorable. :P
The water receding was a lot prettier in person. :/
White ass bitches at the beach.
Pretty rocks everywhere.
And lots of nice eyecandy everywhere as well. *cough*
I think we just vegged the rest of the evening. We ended up staying at the beach from about 11:30-3:30, which was a lot longer than we had anticipated.
End Day 4

Disneyland!
Okay, so I have to say that I haven't been to Disney since I was 4. I wasn't really expecting to enjoy myself much but I ended up having a lot more fun than I thought. Despite not riding any of the ride rides and just sticking to the shows and simulated rides.
These are from the park. I won't post them all because that would be about 75 pictures right there. :/
California Adventure!
While walking around to the other side of the water, we encountered Donald and Daisy Duck getting it on in the middle of the sidewalk. Such inappropriate conduct in the middle of a family park! I tried to shoo the male duck away from the female (who didn't seem to be able to fly) and managed to pick her up to try to bring her back to the water, but she didn't want to squeeze through the bars of the fence. :/ So I had to just put her down and hope she managed to get out. Robert was like "Don't touch it; you'll get a disease!" And I'm just like...it's a duck. Whatevs. I washed my hands afterwards. That's all that matters.
This is for John
heyu1021 because I know how much he just loves clowns. Muahahaha.
The prettiest mural I saw which was for some Whoopi Goldberg movie. *shrugs*
In line for the Monster's Inc. ride, a group of Japanese kids came up behind us and were just the most adorable things ever. I'm talking about kids that are maybe like 7-14. They were so effing hyper too and kept running around and messing with each other. Lol. o.O One of the older kids burst out randomly with Sugoi! Sugoi! I say randomly because I was so not trying to listen to their conversation. *dies*
Robert laughed at me. That was enough. Haha.
Original concept drawings, animation cells, paintings, etc from Snow White.
Tarzan's Treehouse.
I was sending you an MMS Courtney
torn_portfolio! I don't think you got it though. :/
Don't think we did much after Disney. Or maybe this was the day we went get P.F. Chang's? I don't remember.
End Day 5

The Fashion District!
Seriously, every corner looked like this. Heh.
Robert managed to buy 5 huge bags of scrap fabric for $7, which had some really big pieces in them to make some full pieces. I also took some of the upholstery fabric to use in some paintings or something. I don't really know what I'm going to do with it yet. ALSO! We managed to get fabric for my Sirius coat! Now I just have to find some appropriate buttons for it. Heh. :DD
We finally headed to Koreatown! To the Galleria and to the Plaza. Let me tell you it was the most awkward experience of my entire life. Because if you don't know by now, I am not Asian in any way, shape, or form. We were the only non-Asian people in both of those malls. Oh wait! No, we did see two other white women in the Galleria but that was it. Lmao. I'm sure everyone was wondering wtf we were doing there. Oh lord. I'd do it again though. Whatever.
The Galleria is really really nice and has a lot of high end stores in it. The music store there had the SJ2 repackaged CD+DVD album but I wanted to go to the Plaza to see about getting posters. So we didn't buy anything there and headed to the Plaza. Much calmer mall. We headed straight upstairs to the ABC Music Plaza where I browsed forever to see what I could come across. I managed to get the CD only version of SJ2.
I also scanned the album booklet which you can find
here.
Now buying that was just an experience in itself. The boy that checked me out (was so effing cute omg) seemed extremely nervous for either A) he didn't speak English all that well, B) he was new and didn't know exactly what to do or C) a combination of A&B. Lol. When he saw me come up to the counter, he ran to the other side of the store to get another guy that worked there. I also asked for any SJ or DBSK posters, but they didn't have any. :( Sad times.
Whatever. We headed to Ice Kiss afterwards! Yummy. I didn't get 팥빙수 (patbingsoo), but got a strawberry ice kiss instead. Robert got the #1 ice kiss which is just their whatever they feel like serving that day and I think it was green tea. It was pretty yummy though.
Robert's friend also came out to meet us there and we had interesting conversation, I think. I don't really remember all of these things, sadly.
LACMA came next!
Made out of steel. I think the artist is Jeff Koons.
And this was just awesome. A life size version of a lego firetruck.
The view from the contemporary gallery building.
I found it to be rather stupid that we couldn't take pictures of any of the contemporary artwork, but we could the INSANELY VALUABLE ancient artwork. Makes sense to anyone else? Thought not.
Pretty things!
These were some tiny 2" or so figures in the Japanese Pavilion.
I thought they were gorgeous.
Some awesome ink on silk drawing along with the Amida Buddha.
And now for the La Brea Tar pits.
They were filming something so we couldn't even walk around them properly. :/ Punks.
And no, we didn't see anyone famous or even find out what they were filming.
We went eat dinner and headed back to the car to wash clothes and pack for me to leave the next morning. La.
End Day 6

Okay, so everything seemed to go wonderfully that morning, we made it to the airport early enough for me to check in and still have a good hour or so before we board. Well come to find out American Airlines grounded 200 of their planes for some maintenance check up that didn't pass inspection or something. My gate changed on me twice while I was there and by the second time the plane was delayed until 12:00 which did not occur to me at first would be too late to catch my connection in DWF, so I ended up waiting in line for nearly 2 1/2 hours just to talk to someone to see about what I could do about changing flights or something.
You can listen to my
voice post for what happened afterwards because I don't feel like retyping all of that out.
Robert and I headed back downtown to go to the Beverly Center to browse and to get P.F. Chang's again before having to head back to the airport. Well, I made it there with a good hour or so to spare. I had to go through security again and the bastards STOPPED ME. WTF?! Three people in a row, a guy and girl, then me all of us about the same age. I was so pissed having spent a good 6 hours in the airport earlier that morning only to be stopped and patted down and have my bags swiped with some chemical thing. lja;gsj;algj But whatever, made it through no problem. My plane left around 6:20 pm PT. I sat next to some older guy from Australia. And the in-flight movie was August Rush, which was pretty good. The 3 hours went by a lot quicker than I was expecting and we got in about 15 minutes or so earlier than we were scheduled.
Unfortunately though, my bag got delayed because of the change-over and all the other stupid AA stuff going on, so I had to fill out a claim form and my bag was going to be delivered to me. I was just happy to be home after such a stupid stressful day.
My bag got in yesterday and I got a call from the airport around 9:00 last night saying it would be delivered to me before 2:00 am. :O It got here at 1:30 and the guy who delivered it was wearing PJs too. Lol.
I think I'm still adjusting to my time difference. I wanted to wake up this morning at 7:45 to catch Sukira and get ready to go to Deb's wedding but I ended up waking up at 11:30. I think I may have turned my alarm off and don't remember doing so, which rarely ever happens to me. I feel bad but there's nothing I can do.
We were also supposed to get cable internet today and the stupid Charter guy was running behind and wasn't able to come. The earliest they have now to schedule is for April 7. D: They're comping us $50 or so because of their screw up as we had an appointment and everything. Bastards.
The first part can be located
here. :D
Ah well, I guess that's enough for me. I managed to catch up with Soompi (after 4 hours of backlogging 27 pages) and Gaia, now I just have to see about my flist for any recent-ish posts that may have been made. Let me know if I missed anything guys! ♥!
