Yeah, I'm real good at updating regularly, see.

Eh, you know, we've had a special section to work on. And meetings to go to. And I'm just not on the net as much as I used to be.

Without further adieu...

This would have been the week where the anxiety rolled in. Generally on Sunday night.

And while I did have a brief flash of it on the afternoon of March 11, I worked it out by cleaning my desk and dispatching many of the piles of newspapers littering my office floor.

I felt much more even, more calm, more focused. Though still somewhat easily distracted (but hey, I'm a dreamy artist, what more can I say).

But. I also decided that this week I would try to start working out in the mornings. Before work. :O Yeah, BEFORE work. Which means, of course, getting up a little earlier and actually getting out of the house by 6. Monday didn't work out so well, and Tuesday was... well, Tuesday.

But I started Wednesday, and people, I ain't looking back.

I used to workout at the beginning of the day when I was in school... in part by riding my bike 2 miles to campus, but also by getting in my morning powerlifting workout. Then I'd go to class, energized, and ready to take on the world.

I've always preferred doing that, and working out before I have breakfast. So I'm doing it again.

It's much easier to workout in the morning, before the day gets started. I hate coughing up evening time for anything other than spending time at home or with friends and family. And when you've got an hour long (or two if I lift) workout, well... getting hom at 8 or 9 p.m. isn't all it's cracked up to be anymore. But I'm not losing much in the morning if I leave before Derek gets up - we're both generally busy getting ready for the day ahead. There's not much relaxing. So, what the hell.

It's much easier to talk myself out of a workout on the way home from work than it is when I'm driving in early in the morning.

And for the last two days, and I'm assuming today will make it three, I've had more sustained energy through the day - and munched less between meals. Turns out (as I discovered thanks to some googling), this is one of the recorded benefits of exercising after you get up.

I also found even MORE focus through the day for the tasks at hand. Hot damn.

Rock on. I like this, even if it means leaving the house at 5 a.m. (and I am NOT a morning person) just so I can get some weightlifting in.

yaz, working out
