In-Game Character Information
Name: Ritsuka Aoyagi
Series: Loveless
Age: 12

Personality: Some believe Ritsuka has two personalities after the incident that took his memory, which in a way is true, but rather than taking over and leaving him unaware of what he's said or done. The second side of his personality is merely a facade he uses to keep adults from asking too many questions or just to get out of situations he finds useless and bothersome. He'll act cheerful and overly polite when really he's just using it to side step the situation all together.

His real personality is almost always calm and seemingly apathetic in most instances. Normally when he's being bullied he'll often ignore it or turn the other cheek. Teasing he'll show annoyance towards for the lack of maturity and call the person an idiot or simply walk away. Using normal means of annoyance won't get one very far if they seek to upset him; Ritsuka is a pacifist at heart and having grown up in an abusive house hold he has grown a very tough skin toward both emotional and physical pain. It also leaves him with a very little respect for anyone that would hurt another in anyway. In fact the only thing that will get him heated is bearing witness to abuse towards a friend or loved one. Though he'll never raise his hand in anger towards someone this doesn't stop him from throwing a petrifying spell at them or possibly some furniture in their general direction. He can be a little hot headed when it comes to seeing people in pain (even ones he doesn't know personally) and it is one of three things that will get a raise out of him

Another is dishonesty. Ritsuka has a very hard time trusting people or growing bonds so when he does manage to trust someone, it doesn't take much to hurt him. He hates to be lied to or to have his trust broken much like anyone would, but Ritsuka takes such things to hearts, though he is very forgiving and willing to make excuses for the ones he loves this wont stop him from shouting and losing his temper (unless it's his brother Seimei who he could forgive for anything without a second thought).

And last is affection or intimate physical contact (hugs/kisses). He has a hard time understanding such things from anyone that isn't family and often wants nothing to do with it. It upsets and confuses him when people claim to like him, especially when it's in a romantic sense. He doesn't respond well to people saying they love him and will start to shout at them or just run away.

Overall he has a kind heart and hates the very idea of hurting someone, but he's also outspoken and has little qualms with telling people just what he's thinking if provoked, even at the possibly deterioration of his relationships with the person. He's honest and even when trying to avoid a topic or situation he'll rarely lie unless it's necessary.

Background: Being distantly related to the Kaka Clan, life even as a wizard was pretty tough. Magical or muggle, children were pretty cruel, but Ritsuka had been a bright and outgoing child. He could make friends easily and some even found the ears and cat tail kind of cute. He and his brother were home schooled at first since their father was a muggle teacher and their mother had been a capable witch. Things were tough but not all bad... or so he's been told. Unfortunately for Ritsuka at the young age of 10 he had witnessed something quite traumatic and possibly dark magic related as it left him with no memories prior the age of ten.

Though he still remembers things like his name and the names of his family members, any events that had occurred are all gone. No one is really sure what happened to him but the incident had also left his mother insane and the bright cheerful child he once was had become quiet and withdrawn. This of course only agitated his mother's condition to the point where she'd become violent towards the boy, claiming he wasn't her real son, making the boy feel as if the him he is now had somehow taken her real son away. She'd also play cruel tricks, disguised as apologies for hurting him, such as making foods that he both liked and disliked then watching him eat to see if he'd choose the ones the "real" Ritsuka would eat. If he chose wrong he'd be beaten. Of course it is impossible to remember which foods are safe and since she tends to get mixed up and often get the answers wrong herself. Still he tries to humor her and views her illness as an excuse for her behavior. Even believes that in someway he has taken her true child away and will often attempt to act like him for her benefit. Their father being a muggle couldn't perform spells to restrain and would often leave the work to Ritsuka's older brother, Seimei, who was 15 at the time.

Still things weren't always bleak at the Aoyagi house hold. Ritsuka's older brother was a constant safety line for him. He'd keep their mother well medicated and would protect his little brother by letting him stay in his room whenever the spells weren't as strong as intended (They were just children after all), until Ritsuka turned 11 and their father did the only decent thing he'd ever done for his son, he sent him to Hogwarts. For his 11th year he was happy to be out of the house but he missed his brother terribly. Still he started warming up to his surroundings, though he remained fairly quiet and mature for an 11 year old, he was growing slightly more social again. He'd even try new things, which lead to him finding he had a talent for photography. He'd often take pictures with people he felt were worth remembering. The boy enjoyed being out at school quite a bit. It wasn't until the summer before his second year that things took a disastrous turn once more. Ritsuka loved his brother and thought the world of him. So when news that he had been murdered reached the family, Ritsuka was devastated and confused. The body was found burnt in a nearby public school in a way that made it obvious this was no accident and had been planned out carefully. The boy couldn't understand why anyone would want to hurt Seimei since most thought he was the perfect son. To this day it's still a mystery.

Since the event he has grown even more distant, even seems apathetic at times. At least when around other children, when around adults, as always he'll act as his "normal" old self (What be believes he was like before 10). That bright child that was polite and out going, but even this is a strain for him. When around uninfluenced people, like children, he tends to just ignore them. Having taken some time off for the arrangements after Seimei's death has made him miss the first month or so of his second year.

Blood: Halfblood with a little Kaka Clan blood in there.

Preferred House: Ravenclaw
Why you think they belong in this house? Ritsuka is smart and studious for one so young. He enjoys reading and would often encourage his best friend, Yuiko to do the same. He may grow impatient and come off as harsh towards people he views as idiots, this doesn't stop him from putting the time in to correct the person if they're willing to listen. Another quality can be found in how he deals with the domestic abuse from his mother. While most would act out and behave violently towards others in return, Ritsuka instead makes the connection that what's being done is wrong and to do the same to others is equally as wrong. His choice of pacifism over an eye for an eye some may view as mature and wise for someone so young.

What's that sound?

[Some shuffling sounds and the sound of a dresser dragging across the floor.]

Ah, so that's what happened to it. [The sound of bed springs.]

... Oh, it's recording? I hope it wasn't doing that this whole time...

[A sigh.] Well, I had hoped to just get back to work, but since its already started...

Hello Hogwarts. It's Ritsuka and yes, I'm back, now I'm going to get back to unpacking.

[Some page ruffling and a annoyed grumble as he tries to remember how to stop it.]

Ah... Goodbye.

Roleplay Sample:
Potions was never a favorite subject of his and not just because of their impatient potions Master. The subject itself left so little room for mistakes and it did make him a little nervous. He stared at his notes with an unimpressed look and his tail gave an annoyed flick as he tried to make heads or tails over what he believed was wrong with his assignment. "Why does this subject have to be so much like cooking?" The boy sighs and ripped the page out of his book before crumpling it and setting it aside. He'd just had to start over again as much has it pained him to review this all again. If it wasn't done right then it wasn't worth doing at all, much like potions making itself.

Still, it was getting late and his attention was already starting to waver. He rested his chin against the book and sighs, causing the paper ball to roll a little. "Hm..." His ears perked up but he fights the annoying instincts of his Kaka Clan blood and tried to lose himself in his thoughts. Another sigh slipped past his lips and the ball gave another jerk. "Stop it." He ordered the object as if that could help the situation in any way.

Again he starts to think but his eyes keep wandering to that stupid ball. It sat there as if watching him... begging to be put away. "No." He tried once more but before he knows it, his fingers are lightly batting at the ball and a slight smile is on his face... that is until the ball tumbles off the desk and he's left feeling as foolish as he always did when giving into his instincts.

"Nn, Stupid potions..." He huffs irritably and collects his things before rushing out of the library.
