I'm posting this song everywhere I can, in hopes that I can share the power that can come from a few words and a melody. This song saved me from cutting today. I first heard it when Edwin McCain and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra came together to play it at and EC concert. I was immediately moved by the simplicity.
Life takes us through several routes - moments of tragedy, hate, spite, love, hope, faith, perseverance - to steer us back on the right track.
"I can't explain how I'm still here today, I'm just thankful that I am. Yeah, I have survived more than I should, pushed it as far as I could, reaching for the sky. And I've walked on the edge more than most, Heaven knows I've cut close, but I'm alive. After all that I have done, it's you, that makes me the lucky one."
Maybe the "lucky one" is a person for you. May it's not. Maybe it's a song, a painting, a concept, a belief... if you don't have it now, have faith it will come. There are things worth hanging on to in this life. When you find them, tighten your grip and vow never to let go.
