(no subject)
okay, so here's the deal. i haven't updated for many reasons -- one, my computer is always broken ; two, i simply did not have the time ; three, i did not really care to. my life has been crazy. i graduated high school two saturday's ago, on the 5th. before that was grad-nite, baaccalaureate mass, et cetera -- you know, like saying good-bye. graduation was emotional because notre dame high school has been my second home for the last three years -- it is so strange to wake up and not have to rush to school, even during the summer. i feel split in half. i was awarded woman of the year at graduation, which was perhaps the greatest way to end my four years of growing up.
i left for hawaii last wednesday and arrived home late last night. i went with -- tatiana, elise, lacey, caitlin, jacey, kellie, and kaytee. overall, the trip was worthwhile despite much bull-shit -- i mean, for christ sakes, we're out of high school so shouldn't we be acting older? but it didn't happen. daniel told me something i'll always remember, "when you travel, that's when you really get to know a person." and god, he is so right. anyway, i surfed while there, ran into a lot of people i know, spent time with megan and david, went to a dirty-ass-foam party, almost got evicted from my hotel room because of being too drunken loud, did all those crazy things with all those crazy girls, and you know came home with a nice dark tan and oh, a really nice tattoo.
so this is me, an 18 year old high school graduate who in almost exactly two months will be living in austin, texas. i am so scared but this trip made me ready. i learned the power of friendship and the power of good-byes. and god, the power of moving on.
