Top Fives - part I

Oct 20, 2006 01:48

I am one of those survey-happy people who prefer posting lists and Q&As instead of ranting and raving about mundane everyday things-life is blahdeeblah, we get it..let’s not document it as if we cared. (NOTE TO SELF: stop feeling bored)

This post was inspired by Gel and Dianna, my sisters in crime.

Top 5 Songs I Can Listen to Over and Over Again
Okay, let’s say I had to remove Jason Mraz from the list, because anyone who knows me these days will know my Mrazobsession is kinda old news already, so to make me squirm, let’s take him out of circulation.

1. Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper. Nothing beats the original, though versions of Tuck and Patti and Matchbox Twenty and Eva Cassidy are pretty decent, too. For me, it’s one of those “must be in everybody’s mp3 collection” songs.

2. Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band. Anyone who listens to DMB has a hint of coolness, in my books.

3. Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand. I like the band, period. IMHO, the first few minutes of this particular song was their golden ticket in making me put it on repeat.

4. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Come on. Do I have to explain why? This song’s timeless.

…at this point I am frickin’ itching to put in a Mraz song….but I ain’t gonna! I ain’t!

5. Follow Through by Gavin deGraw. Hahaha, I gotcha! This ain’t considered cheating, coz it’s NOT Jason Mraz, but hell, to whoever has heard his songs, is there anything in the Chariot/Chariot Stripped CD you don’t like?! (Props to Ron and again, Gel, for getting me hooked)

Top 5 Reading Materials To Choose Over Schoolwork
Coz that’s all I can do in Condolandia. That, and DVD marathons, but I’m kinda stuck in limbo on that one, waiting for the next seasons to come (see next list for more info).

1. Choke by Chuck Palahniuk. I’m still currently on it, almost through with it, but I know a winner when I read one. Like it says on the cover, it’s Fight Club for sex addicts.

2. The Stephanie Plum novels by Jane Evanovich. I’m done with Book 5, just waiting to hear from my sister so I can borrow the next ones from her. Bombshell Bounty Hunter from Hell, caught between two lovers-a hot cop and a co-bounty hunter. Hehe, guilty pleasure readin’ material.

3. The Law of Love by Laura Esquivel. Yeah yeah, all that soulmate crap becomes interesting because the story is set in year 2020, or something.

4. Tabloids like US Weekly. I mean gosh, reading about Brad Pitt’s gold tooth (and actually seeing it in a picture, close up) is reason enough.

5. Pink is the New Blog. Nothing interesting like incriminating pictures of Lindsay Lohan’s “fire crotch” and Jake G. jogging with a manfriend. Visit http://trent.blogspot.com and be a Pink reader yourself!

Top 5 DVD Sets

1. Prison Break. Michael fuckin’ Scofield. Need I say more, ladies?

2. House MD. Well, my reason is Gregory House’s snappy answers (and witty comebacks), plus Robert Chase’s accent. What’s your excuse?

3. Grey’s Anatomy. Shiyeeeet. Shepherd or Finn? Shepherd or Finn? Who can frickin’ choose? (To those of you who already know, NO LEAKAGE PLEASE!) Plus Cristina Yang’s a hoot.

4. Monk. A Obsessive Compulsive disorder in a private investigator is sooo much fun to watch. Picture Gil Grissom with phobias.

5. Entourage. Haven’t seen the entire set yet, but so far it’s got me hooked!

and... DVD Sets to Get Me Going (soon):

1. Veronica Mars. Pro-Logan, baby!

2. Gilmore Girls. What happens to Luke and Lorelai? WHAT HAPPENS?

3. CSI Vegas. Still haven’t started on season 4. Since it’s the only franchise of CSI that I watch (Miami sucks), I wanna take it slow and savor each episode.

4. Lost. Coz the ending of season 2 is just too sci-fi for me. I gotta know what happens next.

5. The OC. Yeah yeah, Marissa dies. So, is the Adam Brody-Rachel Bilson love team enough to save the show?

6. One Tree Hill. Coz people say it’s better than The OC.

More lists to come, soon.
