White Wolf on the Brain... Again
side note: Wednesday was my birthday. Yay?
Watching the Princess Bride today, I had a sudden flash of inspiration. Screw Creation, screw the Yozis, screw all the other hard to explain bits of setting (though I love them very, very much): Exalted is your chance to play a character like Wesley or Fezzik or Inigo or Buttercup or even Humperdink. All of the amazing characters in this movie (and let's face it, the characters are right up there with the quotes for why people LOVE this movie) are absolutely world-class in something (and yes, having read the novel of the Princess Bride helps with this thought connection), from the most beautiful woman in the world (Buttercup), to the perfect man (Wesley), the unbeatable swordsman (Inigo), the world's greatest hunter (Humperdink), and... well... the list just goes on. The madness of the bad guys corresponds to virtues gone wrong. Inigo's quest for vengeance is the perfect picture of a Motivation. Even the Machine can fit perfectly in Exalted (with a little retinkering involving soulsteel and the like).
On the other hand, the framing device with the little kid and his grandpa would fit perfectly in a game of Changeling. Squint your mind's eye just right, and this adds up to an amazing crossover game, I think.
