hello Val, it has definitely been a long while since you've been round these parts. the same can surely be said for me, though i am in the process of trying to change that. i'd forgotten how good it feels to journal. anyway, i'm still down here in south Louisiana, Lafayette to be precise. we (my wife, our little boy Oliver, and i) are pretty settled here and will be for at least the next year and a bit while i finish up at UL. i'm still in Anthropology, but i dropped the whole double-major in English thing once we found our we were having a baby. he's now almost fifteen months old! other than school and two jobs and being a poppa, i play in two bands locally that make it up to Baton Rouge regularly. the more established band, Dire Wood, will also be playing a showcase at this year's SXSW. we'll be playing in Baton Rouge often throughout the summer and fall and onwards, so whenever y'all get in town let me know and, if you'd like, i'll let you know when we'll be up there; it'd be great to meet up after all these years. anyway, best ( ... )

As much a you dread certain aspects of life there, it is where you excelled in your undergraduate degree, met totally cool Matt, turned into such a lovely young woman, discovered who Valerie really is, and living there has prepared you and Matt for a wonderful future together. Besides that, your Dad who thinks you are better than perfect is back safely from the Middle East after 11 years and is excited about every aspect of your life plus cares about you more than you will every know. You have ( ... )
