About an hour ago, my left pointer finger found itself slammed under the blade of the Natural Science and Mathematics Department's ancient paper cutter. After I felt the immediate pain and realized the possible severity of the situation, I quickly walked to the sink and washed my wound, which had yet to produce any blood. While attempting to clean my finger, I noticed that the blade had cracked my nail, and still, no blood. I wrapped my injury in a paper towel waiting for it to begin to soak up the massive amount of blood that I was sure was to arrive any second. A few second went by, no blood-soaking, so I unwrapped my finger to check it out...still no blood, not a drop. Once I became aware that my finger remained in tact and was not bleeding, I walked back to the paper cutter and proceeded to pass out while Dr. Hisey utilized the copier behind me. However, I managed to sit down in a chair before doing so, thereby preventing even more injury to myself that was sure to be caused had I passed out while standing near the paper cutter. I thought about crying for a second there, but was interrupted by my light-headedness. All in all, I am o.k. My finger nail is cracked, but not cracked open, and the beginnings of an awful black bruise is starting to appear around the crack. As of now, I have it wrapped in a water-proof band-aid.
