Tonight I had dinner with two very good people. It was good to catch up with them. They are both very happy with their lives and it reminded me that I am too. The things I want I can go out and get, the things that are wrong I can fix, and in the meantime I love the things I've got. It's as simple as that.
Also, though this dinner was perhaps the most uplifting three hours of conversation I've had in months, it would probably rank in at number two on the list of Sweet Things That Happened Today. What could top stimulating conversation with dear friends? There is only one thing in the world greater than the love of friends and family. Bacon. It's a scientific fact. But what's even better than bacon? Why allow me to show you:
Somehow, Ben and I got tricked into working a catering job at 7:45 this morning. My answer came in the form of the left over food. Real estate agents must not have good taste in breakfast food because there was 3/4 of a catering pan of bacon left after we got done. That's something like 200 strips of bacony-goodness. All of which Ben and I either ate on the spot or brought home for later consumption. Friend, you have not lived until you've driven down Ribolt Road in a Chevy 1500 van with multiple hundreds of strips of bacon sitting between the front seats, slowing falling in number as you inhale them strip by indescribably delicious strip.
What a ridiculous entry.
