Babies!!

Seems like I'm surrounded by pregnant people and fresh new babies. My co-worker's wife is two days past due, and there's a lot of Baby Rabies going around. So I think it's time for a poll. Sorry if this triggers issues for anybody, I'm not trying to bring you down. Tell me to fuck off in the comments if you'd like. For the rest of you, please tell

I can see that. And I think I knew most of that. But still, if there was ever some sort of "accident", I think you'd be a great mom. :)

I figured you knew most of that, but the rest of the people who read your journal likely do not. And on the off chance that there are others out there who do not want children, I figured it would make them feel less alone. So much of society just automatically assumes that everyone wants to have kids, especially women, and it's most definitely not universally true.

(3) This next reason will likely offend a lot of people, but it's something I've considered, so I'll put it here. I'm absolutely terrified of having a mentally unhealthy child, be it some form of a developmental disability, autism, etc. I don't know that I'm a strong enough person to take care of a child like this, which is a HUGE red flag to me that perhaps I shouldn't become a mother.

eh. I would abort an otherwise wanted pregnancy if I discovered it had mental disabilities, and so do over 90% of women. We can't all be bad moms...

true. just saying that your non-desire to raise a child with disabilities doesn't mean you'd be a bad mom. Most of us feel that way.

Well, I can pretty much "ditto" this, minus the seizures and the amount of debt, and adding in a couple things of my own, such as a lack of partner.

Funny you should mention your lack of a partner. Have you ever met purplesquirrel? Seems to me that you two have a lot in common. grenacia and I think you'd really hit it off.

I value your and grenacia's friendship too much to do anything that might jeopardize that, like hooking up with one of your other friends. ;) That, and I'm of to Florida again in just a few days here, and then who knows. But I suppose it couldn't hurt to meet this person sometime - one can never have too many friends. :) Thanks for the thought, anyway!
