What a nice Surprise...
In the almost 10 years I worked here at the newspaper, I've only received a gift from anyone I rarely work with twice.
The first time was when I was still working in Circulation as a Dispatcher and one of the District Managers surprised me with a bouquet of flowers for helping her out. And second was today.
A client of mine, whom I've dealt with on and off this past 3 years booking their ads during their busy recruitment season (it's a big agency/company), but I only ever spoke to her over the phone and never in person. So today she paid myself and another rep a visit and they gave us gifts! It's a nice paperweight (I can't take a pic of it right now 'coz my cell phone's low on batt and I didn't bring my charger with me, darnit!).
I wasn't expecting to receive any gifts from their visit. I just thought she'll be coming by to meet and greet and probably place ad(s), but noooooooo. She and a colleague of hers took the time out of their day to pay each and every one of the people they deal with a visit and came bearing gifts with personalized handwritten THANK YOU cards!
Now ain't that a sweet gesture and a wonderful way to end one's week?
