soundtracks
I'm on a roll typing my current fic I am working on. It's a crossover fic and...well, so far so good. Most of the chapters are short while some are long. I don't really write really long chapters unless I feel that whatever I was thinking of using as another chapter can be just a break in the current chapter I'm working on.
Anyway, ever since I started writing this Harry Potter/Supernatural crossover fic of mine I need to get pumped up for it.
Do you listen to music and get inspired by either the lyrics or the beat of whatever it is you're currently listening to?
I do.
When I started writing this crossover fic I needed a song to get me into the character of Dean Winchester from Supernatural. His character loves classic rock music. When I started typing the chapter when I introduced them, I had ACDC's Highway to Hell song stuck in my head. Now I have no idea who sang it at first; all I know was the lines HIGHWAY TO HELL and I think the beat in my mind was wrong too. So I searched for it and downloaded the song.
It started with that song then followed by another and another until I'm stuck with over two dozens songs, all of which ARE soundtrack songs to this fic of mine. Now I am busy sorting the songs out. I already deleted like three songs that I downloaded last night that I don't really need because really, the lyrics or the beat of the song didn't get me going so those were discarded. Now I'm left with an eclectic collection of songs. Of course not all the songs I downloaded are for my lead characters.
Oh no. No siree.
The other songs I downloaded served the purpose of, initially anyway, being a song for my leads, but I am introducing secondary characters and probably hinting on a possible love interest amongst the secondary characters. It wouldn't be fair to not give them a 'theme song', right? And how can I get in the mood to write about the secondary characters if I don't have a song that will be giving me that push to pursue whatever pairing I am thinking of pursuing. -LoL-
I'll probably end up with how many sets of burned CDs for my soundtrack to this crossover fic of mine. And I ain't really complaining!
