THE INJUSTICE

She took me to the VET and just left me there.

It was an awful feeling, to realise that the box of treats was actually another carry cage of DOOM! but to be LEFT there, with strange noises and smells. I was in a small "room", and left there - sometimes someone would come and stare at me, make sounds and I'd start to try and explain how all this was a terrible mistake and they'd just smile and move on.

I did not know what was to happen - and then they came with drugs. Powerful drugs, I went to sleep, but I didn't WANT to. I woke, groggy, sore - oh so sore. They were checking on me lots, and I would try to ask what was going on but I couldn't get things to work. And then I saw my leg.

My hind leg - SHAVED. Oh it hurt, it ached - and it was like something was in there irritating me, something unnatural - what had they done to me?

She came to see me, she let me walk a little - my leg screamed with pain, but I put on a strong face, maybe if I was broken she would not save me from this place. But she talked to me, and patted me and put me back and I thought "right, this is it then"...

another night, another lot of strangers ignoring my pleas, and in the morning - she returned. The Aunt came back, I was bundled into the new carrier of DOOM and she took me home.

But its all changed - I mean - home is the same - but I have this new cage - I can see all around me, but I'm enclosed behind small bars, I have room to move about, but mainly I sleep. She has somehow connected this new cage with the carrier of DOOM, but it now has my litter, and some food and water in it. Sometimes when I'm really upset or want to be alone - I'll sleep on the litter.

She keeps me in it when she's not around, or when she's sleeping, she lets me roam around a little at night but tends to come and grab me if I look to explore.

Everything is blocked off, under the bed, under the seats in the lounge, she puts me in these "pens" I guess you'd call them, I have rugs and more space, but I am no longer free to roam.

Tonight I tricked her, while she had her back turned I got up on the couch - she was not happy to see it, but eventually came to sit beside me so we could share a good nap together.

And now again, I'm caged. The lights are off and I've been left to my own in the lounge.

I am so upset, I might go make something really smelly in the litter!
