Seriously...

I initially imagined that a big chunk of these guys (and girls) on WoW take the game far too seriously. And there had been a few instances where it was very evident. I can understand that some groups, especially the massive 25-raid groups insist on having only players with really good gear, skills and knowledge of certain dungeons but it should be obvious that those people not walking around in Epic armour aren't quite there yet. Perhaps they may even be new to the game.

I fall into that category and lately, I've been declaring my noobness to when I enter random dungeons (brilliant new addition by Blizzard in my opinion!) after a long queue.

For my level, it's been The Drak'Tharon Keep, The Nexus, Azjol-Nerub and Ahn’kahet on a regular basis. There was that one time that I ended up with a group in the Violet Keep which was a LOT easier to control and manage as the mobs come in predictably timed waves.

My level 75 Blood DeathKnight is just averagely decked out, specced to keep myself going in the world rather than full on DPS (Damage Per Second) for dungeons and have managed to solo several group quests. Normally, I'd score pretty low on the DPS scale... Right now, about 800+ per second which really isn't great.

But dungeons are different. Not only do mobs run around with 2-3 times the amount of health they normally have outside, bosses tend to carry over 100k of it! So fights tend to be a bit long and tricky.

A few days in and out of those dungeons, I've already begun to identify certain mobs which need to be taken out first, which ones can be ignored before hacked to death and which paths to avoid. The other night, I happened to be with a jolly group... including myself, there were 4 Bloodelves and an Undead. It was an 'almost-gorgeous gang' with the Priest and Mage donning similar cloth armour that made them look like twins. Aww... Anyways, By the time we reached half the dungeons, the tank had to go cos his brother had allegedly fallen into a ditch. I've never heard THAT one before... but as we danced on magical platforms, waiting for a new tank to walk in, the Priest mentioned that I'd been a bigger saviour on more than one occasion and suggested that I tank.

I was pretty sure it was because I had a few thousand more health than them and we were bored of waiting. So I went for it... we didn't last the next 10 minutes but what I found cool was that they didn't go "OMG! You suck!" They were warned well in advance that I'd never tanked (even as a Palladin before I permanently moved to Holy Priest) and one of them went "No time like the present. If we wipe, we wipe. No big."

That was the perfect example of a group which was in it for the fun and not like those freaky kids you can see on youtube.

It's only going to get so much harder once I cap at 80, which according to out calculations should be the end of the month or middle of next. Then it's not so much questing but the dungeons which takes almost forever to queue for, or Battlegrounds for badges. Now that's something that no amount of money (or Gold for that matter) can buy.

When FF13 pops out next month, all hell is gonna break loose.
