Something is strange.
Something isn't right.
Something tells me
There's a fire burning tonight.
Tragedy has fallen
Among the fire, dust and ash.
And our heroes trample on
To find the missing and the passed.
And those monuments which fell,
In which those thousands died,
All who suffered just so hate
Is somehow justified.
September 11th was but a dream,
As I watched these thousands die.
Surrealism slowly took control,
It filmed my bleeding eyes.
Carved from an angry knife,
Etched into our souls.
This memory of terror,
Has cut a gaping hole.
My eyes are filled with tears,
My mouth is choked for words,
My mind, twisted for thought,
This logic seems absurd?
But as I watch the nation,
Come together as united,
It may not erase this tragedy,
At least one wrong is righted.
I’ve so many questions to ask,
With not an answer in sight.
That is why my heart
is a fire burning tonight.
~Dedicated to those who perished Sept. 11th, 2001.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart and soul, to all of you - the volunteers, the firefighters, the police, the workers, the searchers, the doctors and nurses, the common people who demonstrated the incredible bravery of 1000 heroes - all of you working long through the day and night in helping to bring some means of comfort to an otherwise deplorable, depressing, and highly unnerving situation. You are truly heroes - each and every one of you - and for that, I am grateful to live in such a wonderful country. You bring inspiration to everyone across the nation, and across the world. For every extra hour you stay to help, for every person you search for, every pain and ache you ignore to keep going, I am proud to say I am an American. Your efforts, undying passion to help, your courage and bravery inspire us all and bring us together. You inspire me to love, to want to help everyone and everything in my power, to hold my head up high and not let fear, anger and sadness overtake my soul. You truly are heroes, and I love each and every one of you.
God bless you all.
