Boo-yah!

This is a review of Heavy Rain. Just my opinion and I thought gfitz would enjoy it!:P

So, I just finished my first play through of Heavy Rain and wow! Just...wow! I've never been so emotionally invested in a game before. Not going to give away any spoilers but I was a little slow on the uptake on who the killer was. And when it was revealed, I admit, I did the classic: "NOOOO!!!". Usually when I finish games I don't play them again for awhile, if ever. But I immediately went in and hit 'New Game' so I can see all the variations and outcomes of my choices.

Admittedly the controller took some getting used to. I'm really accustomed to the Sixaxis feature of the PS3 controller which is VITAL for playing Heavy Rain.  And if you're not quick or not keeping an eye on the screen for the prompts then you'll lose out on some vital information or your game will take a drastic turn. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I had a hard time with ARI(Added Reality Interface(which is amazing btw!)) when I first started playing Jayden because I wasn't positioning the controller just right. But after awhile it became second nature so it was all good.

And while I did love the game, LOVE IT, I hated the way the characters walked, or rather the buttons you had to press to make them walk. When you need to turn on a dime for some things having to backup, look and then turn in that direction can screw you over. Just saying. All and all I would recommend this game to anyone who likes a little mystery(or who liked the first Saw) in their games. Don't get me wrong I love to shoot 'em up but it was a nice change of pace(not to say there's not ducking and dodging of gun fire...or fights. Cause it has plenty!). I would advise the person to download the demo first so that way they can sort of familiarize themselves with the controller and the world. If I was reviewing this on amazon(I am such an amazon whore!) I'd give it 5 stars as well as 5 for the fun factor.

Ninja Assassin

This is really for followingwords since I know we have the same taste in action movies!:P

I brought this the morning that it came out(got two dollars off too since Wal-mart does a price match and Best Buy had it cheaper! Holla!) since I'd seen the preview a long time ago. I meant to go to the movies to see it but never got around to it. And I'm sorta glad that I didn't actually. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad movie. It's just not one that I'll watch again. Not like, say, Shoot 'em Up!:P

The action scenes were great, the fight scenes were properly gory and the movie had hot, muscle guys that can bend and twist on a dime. So what's wrong with it then? Well, the plot was...well it was a mash up of other plots and I didn't fell connected to any of the characters. It was actually like watching some B movie which you know sucks but you paid to see it so you're going to watch it. And that's what I did. And right after I tossed it on the movie shelf. I should have just rented it and called it a day.

And look at me with this huge wall of text! LOL!!
