Belated Vacation Post and other stuff!
Okay, so I'm feeling much, MUCH better! Good enough to talk about my vacation!:P
Didn't I SAY it was long? :P
So, I got through security at the airport without incident(nothing's really changed actually. Weird). Less than two hours later I'm in Jersey calling my sister up. She's on the Parkway so that means I don't have to rush and since I only had the carry on(hello?!! Have you SEEN baggage fees?) I didn't have to pick up luggage. First stop I have her make is at Dunkin' Donuts because we don't have one down here. We only have Krispy Kreme*sad, sad*. Yum...donuts!!!! So, we discuss what we're going to do while I'm there amid passing a iced cappuccino back and forth. And there were BUSES!!! Public transporatation how I've missed you! :( My town doesn't have buses! *sigh*
Saw my niece for the first time in six months. She's funny. She was giving me the side eyed look our family is known for. I plied her with food and she was my friend from then on! My sis said she's going to be a fattie like the rest of us. She meant that in the best possible way of course! But my niece does love food. And she learned how to call me Auntie! :D I don't like kids but I love that little buggaboo. Thank goodness because my sis went to work on Friday and I thought for sure, when Maleeya woke up she was going to have a fit that my sister was gone. Suprise! She didn't. She just rolled over, looked at me then went back to watching the Sprout channel(I will NEVER watch that channel again!). Then we just hung out and played and ate and chilled.
Saturday my sis and I went to go see Avatar. If you haven't seen it: GO! NOW! DO IT!!! That movie was awesome. Amazing! The details and ish just blew my mind and I was all involved in the storyline(not that it's anything new but still...). My sis was making little fists pumps and everything when she got excited! LOL!! The pretzels with cheese sucked though! I was upset about that! See, I'm such a fattie! Anyways, we went to the mall, but it closed at 7 or something(WTF? It's SATURDAY! Why are you closing early? Weird!).
Sunday we just lounged around the house and played the Wii. Stupid Wii fit and its BMI index! *insert me flipping it the bird here*
Monday my sis talked me into going to the Spa with her. Sauna King was the name of it. It's a Korean spa. I should have done research. I was thinking white robes and cucumber masks and possible massage. That was enough to give me nightmares. I have body issues. I hate anyone to see me naked or whatever but I was like, ya know, I'm going to get a massage. I saved up for this. Okay! Suprise!! It's a NAKED spa! NAKED!!! Like, you stand out if you have a your towel on. The only time you get dressed in the shorts and tops that they give you at the beginning is when you go to eat or when you go into the sixteen(I'm not lying! It might have been more) saunas that they have in the building. NO. JOKE! Thankfully it's sectioned off into male and female areas but when you round this corner all you see is naked ladies. Check out this NY Times article. It explains it well. So my sis said I did my nervous eye flicker thing, said 'um', and then started to whistle which is what I do when I get nervous. However, about ten/fifteen minutes into the whole thing I was walking around as naked as everyone else. You stand out if you're wearing the towel they give you. Seriously. And after seeing all the imperfect bodies I wasn't that worried. The salt scrub and massage was WONDERFUL! An hour and a half of the little lady working my muscles, at one point climbing on top of me and using her knees, and I've never felt more relaxed. And the salt srub took off about two or three layers of skin. My skin hasn't been this soft since I was born! And there was a cucumber mask. REAL crushed cucumbers that she put on my face while she washed my hair. Awesome!
After the spa we went back to the mall and shopped. I got a couple of tops and some pants for work. We were walking around in a daze because we were so relaxed. Those saunas are no joke! HOT is not the word! I liked the ice sauna though! LOL!
Tuesday was my last day*Sad* and I'd wanted to get my hair done. My sis scheduled an appointment with her stylist and after her colon cleansing thing that she scheduled and wanted me to go with her we went the hairdresser. I've been rocking a 'fro hawk for the last week or so. It's awesome! The officers at work start beatboxing whenever they see me! LOL! Then we got some pizza slices at the little shop next door(I miss the little pizza shops were you get get pizza SLICES instead of having to order the whole pizza) and then we were on our way to the airport. My sister said my niece was looking for me when she got back home. :( I miss her.
But I had a blast. It was so much fun! It's always good times when I get with my sister. Seriously! The flight back was uneventful. I got back and went to sleep because I had to work the same day! Awesome yeah?
And I'm snagging this from 13066301 because it was so freakin' colorful! :D
