I've been working retail for almost two years now... and while I've known for awhile that I'm not much of a people person, it hasn't been too bad, other than a few upsets here and there

*sigh* I hate how inconsiderate and disrespectful people can be sometimes. The celebrity and the NASCAR fans sound annoying, but that last customer was just a jerk! Why did he even want to check anyways? And what gives him the right to say something like that? What an ass! >:C
And by the way, I totally do that, too. xD Like just compare and make sure the two things look the same, rather than actually reading it.
Yeah, pretty much. The fans and celebrity got on my nerves, but I'd take that any day over the other guy. I told my (female) supervisor about him when I went to break, and she was like "And you didn't attack him?" xD I don't know, honestly. He was just being an idiotic jerk.
Good to know I'm not the only one, lol! I think when I first started working there I actually read everything, but then after awhile, I just got used to looking at the names and playing a matching game. Or whatever. lol.
Aww, thanks! *hugs back* Hopefully that'll be the end of the real stupidity for awhile cause I'm off tomorrow and Monday, and by Tuesday things will be back to normal.
IT'S ONE OF THE BEST QUOTES FROM FE7 xDphoenixcriesApril 19 2010, 02:58:39 UTC
There are quite a few people out there that think they're entitled to get whatever they want whenever they want, but this guy is of a type I don't see too often. I'm sure there are several guys that I've met that think this way, but it takes a really... special sort to actually voice it. Hopefully you'll never have meet anyone like that, though.
Pretty much, yeah. lol I've developed so many habits from working in the same place doing the same job for almost two years... and I'm sure they're not all good habits, but whatever. They're not getting me in trouble lol. xD
Yeah, I'm glad to finally have two days off in a row (even if I did have to go in to work for a meeting tonight, it's different because it didn't involve dealing with customers or working a register). Though I have a feeling I'm gonna be a mess tomorrow. And probably the rest of the week, really. :-/
CLEARLY I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME xDgin_genApril 19 2010, 03:19:18 UTC
Yeah, I really hope so! That's just...mean! D:
Hey, that's natural. xD It's not like anyone can be the perfect employee, right? (Besides, you at least saw that the names were the same, which is the point, so no harm. xD)
Aw, how come? D: You're not feeling sick or anything, are you?
YOU DO~! I DEMAND IT.phoenixcriesApril 19 2010, 03:57:13 UTC
Some people are meanies. :-/ Ah well, I try to just rant about him a little and get over it. No point in letting him get to me when I'll probably never see him again. And if I do, I can just tell my supervisors I don't want to serve him, and any one of them would probably back me up on it. :D
Right! Besides, even if I wanted to be the perfect employee (which I don't care enough to), there are several other candidates that would beat me to it, and I just don't want to be like them. Cause they may be the "perfect employee", but their people skills kinda suck! xD (Exactly! As long as I know they match, we're good.)
No... A year ago tomorrow was when my grandpa died. And he and the grandma he was married to are the only two grandparents I was ever close to. Before my mom got remarried, we were living with them and they pretty much helped raise me. So we're gonna go out and take my grandma to lunch tomorrow, but yeah this whole week is gonna be tough.
WELL... UM... FINE THEN. xDphoenixcriesApril 21 2010, 04:39:28 UTC
Exactly! There's no use wasting all that energy being mad at him. (For the most part, they really are. Excluding my manager, we're all like a giant family!)
It's true though... like, they can put on a Robot Cheerful Employee face and talk to customers, but then when you're trying to hold a meaningful conversation with them... it's like they don't even realize that you're a human being. It's weird. xD Me... well, what you see is what you get. I try to put on the cheerful/happy face, but that usually falls into 'I don't care what you're talking about' face within the first hour. It's just so tiring trying to keep the mask up.
Thanks. :-/ I pretty much made it through the day without bawling my eyes out by being apathetic. No emotions = better than bawling, IMO. Yeah, it was pretty fun! We ended up spending like 6 hours with her just gossiping about the family. xD

I'm sorry you had a hard day! *HUG*

Ah, yeah. xD It just becomes habit after a while, I'm sure.
That's good! :D And nice that you get two off days in a row! Ooo~

LOL. I find that so funny that someone who has to work with people all day can be a great employee and still have no people skills. xD
I'm sorry. *hugs* That's sweet that you're taking your grandma out though. It's great that you all had such a close relationship. ♥
