Resident Evil: Revelations 3DS

Apr 04, 2012 10:19

The release date of this game was February 7th, in North America.  I think I got this game about early March. I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;m not too sure I can&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;t find the receipt. I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ll probably scroll through my 3DS activity log and find out when I first played it cause it&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;d probably be the exact day I bought it or the day after.

So I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve been neglecting my 360 and the daily WoW daily gold grind to play this confounded game that I love so much cause I enjoy the series. Can&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;t say it&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;s one of the first survival horror game I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve played because I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve been playing these types of games on my PC (during which I was the only one of my friends and neighbors that had a computer while everyone else got a gaming console) when I was much much younger. Speaking of which I probably need to find some abandonware dos games and play them again.

Nostalgia.

I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve been at this game for probably three weeks now and I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve been trying to get all these missions completed because it&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;s like a goal I have to keep in the game. So I can have better weapons!

Where can I start with this game? The game play is similar to Resident Evil 5 although I think the controls are more Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, where you don&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;t have to hold down a button to run. Easy to learn easy to manage I believe. I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve also set the controls to default so I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;m more use to it that way.

The visual is nice, 3D looks great although a bit awkward to play with. I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;ve adjusted the depth slider so that it&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;s easier for my eyes but once I started playing I have to adjust how I hold the handheld.  Most of the time I will turn off the 3D and that is when I play co-op mode.

Co-op mode, which is called Raid Mode, is a series of levels from the campaign itself, that has random enemies that you have to take down in order to obtain a key that will unlock doors to the next area of the level. Once you reach the level&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;s goal which is either, going to a certain room in the level, or killing all enemies in said level the BSAA badge will appear and you do a physical attack on it and the level is complete. Pretty easy right? Well the level gets more difficult and you gain experience whenever you finish each level. On top of that when you are playing Raid Mode with people online via Streepass you get extra missions which will grant you items to help you in both Campaign and Raid Mode.

Of course there is a store in Raid Mode to buy weapons and upgrades as well as customization for your weapons. The store items are random each time you visit and the weapon level is associated to the your current level. Sometimes you can get epic weapons which is very rare to get. I have to exit and enter the store several times to get my final epic weapon to complete a mission.

I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;m still playing this game though because Raid Mode Abyss difficulty is making me mad when I can&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;t get the S rank in level 15 and 19. I have to go back though those two level and try to get S ranking so I can finish a mission. Spending too much time on this game that I&http://www.phoenixcrash.com/#8217;m neglecting other games I need to finish playing. Like Alice Madness and replay Modern Warfare 3 on Veteran difficulty.
