My health plan sucks. I found out in early august that they were upping my monthly payment to 200$ a month and after a brief spell panicking I went and looked up alternative options. I found another plan with the same company (BlueChoice Bluecross Blueshield) and applied for that as it was about 100$ cheaper per month. Fewer benefits but I don't get really sick that much. So they've had my application since the 23rd of august and have yet to tell me wether or not it's approved. I shot them an email two days ago and have had no response.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to make my payment for this month thinking I might as well keep it while the rate is still below 200 but the web site I use to pay my bills has been down since the beginning of Sept. After trying for two weeks to pay that way, foolishly thinking they'd have IT set it back up, I tried calling customer support to pay over the phone only to find out that customer support is apparently where they have you listen to elevator music for over half an hour without talking to anyone in the hopes that your brain will turn to mush and you'll forget silly things like how to articulate complaints.
I ended up writing a check. They'll get it when they get it and if they cancel it this month then whatever. I slipped a note in with the check telling them I didn't want coverage after this month anyway because no way in effing hell am I paying 200$ a month for insurance that won't even give me full prescription coverage!
