Wow...I need to get better about this.
Well moving right along since my last post I have gotten my computer built (yay!). It's been up and running for two months now and I love it dearly. It has a glowing dragon on the case and a see through display on the side so I can see all the guts me and my dad put in over that weekend. I have to get around to opening it up again though because the front USB ports don't work.
I got in an accident two weeks ago and the less said on that the less chance my anuerism will come back. No one was hurt, my insurance company said I was technically at fault which means even though we both should have been paying attention my insurance is the one that will have to cover it. But as it turns out that may be a blessing in disguise. I've been putting off doing some maintenance on my car and this will get me going to get some of them done along with the body work (not extensive fortunately, a couple of dents in the front bumper, a scratch along the hood and a cracked mirror are all that need to be taken care of. It could have been worse). To end this paragraph on cars on a positive note...I paid off the last of my loan last weekend so now I am loan free!
I'm having some trouble getting registered for next semester classes. The RN's at UMCP say I'm not immune to mumps and my doctor has told me I am so someone somewhere is effing up and I strongly suspect it's the RN's. I love UMCP as an employer and a reputable school but it seems sometimes that there out to ream the students up the ass for everything they can get and from what I hear about other schools it isn't just limited to them. ::Sighs:: Oh well. Now that I've paid off my loans I can consider taking a part time job at the school as long as it also pays tuition remission but I am dubious about whether or not I should. My current job pays me enough that even with books and loans I didn't really have to worry about money, especially since my parents let me live rent free with them as long as I am in school. If I took a part time job I'd still have insurance payments and Tuition remission wouldn't cover the entire cost of school so I'd have to worry about making enough to cover all that. Currently at DOTS that's not a problem for me. I'm even making enough with them that I'm going to supplement the Tuition remission with my own money and try to go full time since there isn't much that goes on at night if I stay organized I should be able to squeeze homework in during work hours. I guess I'll try it for fall semester and see how it goes. Also see if I can't wrangle up some grants, loans are now to be avoided like the bubonic plague. If all goes well I may stay where I am and keep going to school during the day. If not ...well I'll deal with that when it happens. It's nice to have options now even if I don't use them.
