Why LJ, why?

According to this LJ post: Facebook and Twitter Connect, Pingbacks
For those of you who squander spend time on those other social networks, we've just made it easier to stay in touch with your grandparents, forgotten acquaintances, and former bosses on Facebook and Twitter without having to leave the comfort of your LiveJournal home. To activate cross-posting, visit Account Settings/Extensions. Once you link your Twitter and/or Facebook accounts to your LiveJournal account, you can automatically cross-post entries and/or comments...
I honestly don't mind about the entry cross-posting option because the poster is in control of their LJ content, but I definitely have a problem with the fact that all our comments INCLUDING screened and friend's only comments can be cross-posted as well. This means that someone could accidentally quote your flocked entry in a comment and post it to FB, and the comment, your name and the link to your post will also be automatically included. It's not only an invasion of privacy; there's just so many things that could go wrong.

I have always kept of my fandom life and my rl separate so please please do not cross-post any comments you make to my entries. I will ban anyone who does not respect that. Thank you!

Anyway, if you want to get rid of the annoying FB and Twitter icons at the bottom of your comment boxes (this doesn't bar other people from crossposting), you could install Firefox, download the Greasemonkey add-on, then install this awesome userscript by daluci. It supposedly works for Google Chrome as well. The script looks safe, but I could be wrong.

ETA: This is what happens when you cross-post a comment: dysonrules's LJ to FB ACTUAL TEST
ETA2: Add this to your custom css if you want to hide the cross-posting options in the comment box for anyone who views your LJ. However this will only work if they are viewing your custom made layout (and not say, "view in my style" or the normal blue LJ layout) It's best to use both the Greasemonkey userscript and the css code.
ETA3: Please vote in this poll to help LJ figure out how to fix this problem. There are only two questions. Your vote matters!

{wtf?}
