1) I finished and turned in my paper on The Aeneid.
2) It is Friday, and I only have one class left until the weekend.
3) There are only a couple more weeks until Spring Break.
4) It is 64 beautiful degrees outside. In February. I don't have to wear a coat, and it just feels so good that I can't help but smile.
5) Two of my roommates and I got ice cream cones at lunch (chocolate marshmellow with chocolate jimmies!) and took a walk around campus while we talked, laughed, and enjoyed the ice cream and the weather. Little things like that make life so much better.
6) I'm actually on the ball for applying for a summer job somewhere besides a restaurant or movie theater.
7) It had been a couple of weeks, so I listened to some of my Suzanne Vega songs this morning. Have I mentioned lately that I adore her music?
8) I've also been listening to Hayley Westenra's "Never Saw Blue", "Both Sides, Now", "Let Me Lie", and "Summer Rain" a lot lately. They are calming, uplifting, and utterly beautiful.
9) Wednesday was our friend Sean's birthday, so we baked him a cake and filled his room with balloons. I love his smile.
10) Ally and Emily finished Hero of Ages! They loved the series, so now I have something else to bond over with two of my favorite people in the world.
11) Last Sunday, I had finally had enough, so I gave the main part of our bathroom a thorough cleaning. Everybody thanked me and all of a sudden going in there is a much nicer experience.
12) There was a girl at Princeton that I became facebook friends with over the summer because we read a lot of the same books, and I'd given up on meeting her in the flesh, but guess who my roommate Amy invited over the other day to help us make Sean's cake?
13) I've recently been reminded how much I love and miss my friends in Georgia. I smile every time I think of seeing them this summer.
14) Did I mention the weather? Nobody could be in a bad mood in this weather.
15) My hair is staying in a bun without bobby pins, today.
16) I've decided that, generally speaking, the human race rocks.
There. 16!
Random Lyrics (Inspired by Savannah)
"Today we took a walk up the street,
We picked a flower, climbed a hill above the lake
And secret thoughts, you said aloud,
We watched the faces in the clouds
Until the clouds had blown away
Were we ever somewhere else, you know
It's hard to say
I never saw blue like that before
Across the sky, around the world
You're giving me all you have and more
No one else has ever shown me how
To see the world the way I see it now, oh I
I never saw a blue like that"
