::Maria wondered if she could get a cake somewhere. Maybe one of the restaurants. Or Ned! Wasn't Ned a baker? She smiled a bit and wrote a few notes next to "cake" on the paper. she could get food from the dining cart... A gift.. Hmm.. Well she was already getting him tools for the holiday gift exchange.

She turned her head, planning to look around and see if anything inspired her. She blinked at the young man int he doorway, wondering why he seemed to be staring at her.::

We parted under rather sad circumstances in the desert, and we haven't talked much here. So I thought maybe I'd do something nice for his birthday.
