Soooooo after watching the Mister play Mass Effect, I decided to play it myself, because it's awesome. Mister told me the controls for 2 were a lot friendlier than the ones for 1 (they are, btw), so we grab the Genesis DLC (which was a brilliant way to catch up, btw) and I pop in ME2 and brace myself for the opening.
I will now tell the story in pictures (screenshots courtesy of
Annakie on Flickr, captions by me) and text.
The Normandy is under attack
The Normandy is under attack
THE NORMANDY HAS A PROBLEM ;_;
Shepard is a big damn hero. Shepard charges through the explodey ship, rescuing ALL THE PEOPLE (well, almost). Then Shepard goes off to grab Joker.
Shepard wins! But now Shepard has a problem. Joker has a front-row seat to the horror to come.
the horror where space is like, "HEY SHEPARD, GET IN ME," and Shepard is like
but then Shepard is like
(which is where I started making little squeaking noises)
AND THEN Shepard has a nasty realization
YUP SHEPARD IT SURE IS
and then the planet below is like "hey get in mah atmosphere" and really what other choice is there soooooo
and then the title screen shows up to save me
and I just know Bioware is all
because all I can do is this
because holy shit I cannot imagine a worse situation to be in.
Well played, Bioware. Well played.
And the really sad part is, I knew all this was going to happen because I WATCHED THE HUSBAND PLAY IT.
Big feels: gaming gives me them.
