Workshop:

Overcoming Anxiety, Exploring Courage

September 21st

2:00 - 4:45 p.m.

$35 (plus tax)

YogaNow, 215 Gold Street SW

We all experience anxiety from time to time, whether in the context of social interaction, trying something new, job interviews or going to the doctor. Additionally, over 6.8 million Americans suffer from generalized anxiety disorder, which can severely limit a person’s enjoyment of life. In this workshop, we will learn to recognize the roots of anxiety and explore tools to overcome it, including asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation, relaxation, and discussion of relevant science, ancient texts and personal experiences.  Facilitated by Robin, this workshop is suitable for all levels.

About the facilitator:

Robin has worked with victims of trauma for several years as a social worker - with abused children and youth, victims of domestic violence, and young refugees from war-torn areas around the world. She has created programs to assist those recovering from life’s most severe emotional wounds in reclaiming their lives and finding their inner strength. She studied psychology and social development in both undergraduate and graduate school at Western Kentucky University, and is a 200 RYT through the Yoga Alliance. She currently teaches yoga at YogaNow and at the Bernalillo County Juvenile Detention Center.
