 I've called it such several times in the privacy of my own head, but the death of George Carlin on Sunday prompted me to discuss this with April, and she agreed with me that the first ten years of the 21st Century are the Decade of the Dead Celebrity.

Gary Gygax, Molly Ivins, and Robert Anton Wilson.
Granted, most people haven't heard of any of them, but they certainly should have. And everybody is at least familiar with some things that wouldn't exist if it weren't for Gary: D and D and all of its many offshoots into the digital age as computer and console games.

Oh yeah, and don't forget Jerry Falwell. Though he should prolly be listed right next to Saddam Hussein...

He hasn't died yet, but I am waiting on Fidel Castro to kick the bucket, in addition to a smooth transition to a new governement that allows easier travel to and from Cuba.

Because my travel needs are just that much more important ;-p

Perhaps he'll round out the list?
