Defraud the U.S. out of $50 million ... get a letter of admonishment

The secretary of the Air Force gave a letter of admonishment to the previous chief of staff for violating the Joint Ethics Regulation and Federal Acquisition Regulation by granting a $50-million contract to provide a multimedia presentation for Thunderbirds airshows.

Let me say this again, because you might have missed it or not believed it the first time: The former chief of staff of the Air Force bilked the United States out of $50 million, and he got ... paperwork. You can read about it here.

You know what? You get paperwork when you're habitually late to work. You get paperwork if you consistently fail to meet uniform standards. When you bilk the American taxpayers out of 50 million dollars, you've gone beyond paperwork. When you commit a crime, you deserve prison time, not to mention losing your retirement.

We give Security Forces folks Article 15s for accidental weapons discharges, but our general officers get a slap on the wrist that means JACK SHIT to their ability to get a civilian job.

What a fucking travesty.

air force, military, wtf news
