The Problems With Air Travel
It seems it just wasn't my weekend. At least not airtravel-wise. After the problematic flight to Berlin on Friday, my return flight this morning was even more chaotic.
You see, it snowed in Munich this morning. This is Bavaria and it's winter, but apparently that shocked everyone so much that they decided to close down the airport. Then reopen it but only with one instead of two runways. Naturally, the effect on air traffic was pretty noticeable. My flight from Berlin to Munich was an hour late coming into Berlin from Munich. Then we were allowed to board but couldn't take off, because closing one runway in Munich had caused such a backlog of planes going into Munich that we didn't have a landing slot in Munich. In the end I got here more than 1.5hrs late. And you know the worst? There isn't even that much snow on the ground!!!
