I really, really loved this episode. It was utterly, utterly perfect!
It finally felt like Doctor Who again, felt like I was watching my show. I laughed at the Doctor getting mail, arguing with the TARDIS and Rory the pretty, I flailed at seeing an Ood again, was blown away by the new team in the old console room, connected to Aunt and Uncle, and cried for the Doctor realizing there's no hope of finding other Time Lords and loosing the TARDIS personified.
Neil Gaiman did an amazing job and him being a Whovian clearly shines through in his writing. That's probably one of the reasons his episode worked so well and felt like good old Doctor Who again.
I have to admit though that the thought of the old Nine and Ten era control room and all the old rooms being deleted makes me rather sad and nostalgic.
But was I the only one waiting for a Rose reference from the TARDIS? Especially given that Moffat said there'd be one this season. I mean you'd think the whole "I looked into the TARDIS and the TARDIS looked into me" bit would be mentioned. Especially since that was the only time at least part of the TARDIS had ever been in a human body. So Idris' body burning up must have reminded the Doctor of Rose.
