out of touch

I had a dream the other night that my friend from Scotland came to visit me by attaching himself to an e-mail. I wish it were so easy to stay in touch with faraway friends. The people I'm closest to seem to be the ones furthest away now, and though I think of them often I am horrible at actually keeping in touch.

Here's what's been going on in my life for the past couple of months.

In February I turned 26, and at work we finally launched build.ca, the fruit of our many-month labors.

In March I went on a Sacramento food tour with Justin and his parents, and we finally introduced them to my mom. She and his mom got along like two peas in a pod, just like I thought they would.

In April I ran a 5k race, my first, and I won second place in my age group. A victory I was proud of, although in the interests of complete honesty, there were only three ladies in my age group. I also learned to dance the foxtrot, the waltz, the tango, and the west coast swing.

Somewhere in all of this, I don't remember when, I finished my playthrough of Mass Effect 3. It left me emotionally ragged. Never before has a game gotten me so thoroughly, personally invested. I find myself missing it still, because even though the feels were bad, it made me feel so much.
