1 - Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 - I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 - You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 - You'll include this explanation.
5 - You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

1. What's the last creative project (however small) that you worked on?
I'm planning to dress up as a steampunk Princess Leia for comic con in July. Nathan is probably going to be steampunk Han Solo. Over the weekend, we went to a hardware store and bought a whole bunch of little pieces of copper and brass plumbing pipes and connector bits, and I assembled what I got into a really cool blaster. It's not finished yet, but there will be pictures when it is.

2. If you were forced to get a tattoo RIGHT NOW, what would you get?

This guy. In the little hollow area on the underside of my left wrist, under my thumb.

3. How did you meet/come to date Nathan?
This is actually one of my better stories.

I arrived at UC Santa Cruz in early September of 2005. We freshmen were allowed to move into our dorms about a week before the start of classes, so we could get acquainted with the campus and take part in orientation activities. I kept noticing this tall, blonde, long-haired guy that looked sort of like a fair-haired Jesus, and I thought he looked nice and might make a good friend, but I was too shy to approach him.

Classes began. My first was German 1. I got to class and took a seat near the door. As I sat waiting for the teacher to show himself, I mused idly that it would be handy if blonde Jesus were to be in my class and sit next to me, as that would give me an excuse to say hello. Not five minutes later he walked in and sat down in the seat right next to mine.

This of course gave me the excuse I wanted, and since we lived in the same area of the campus and got out of class right at lunch time, we started walking back to Cowell/Stevenson and going to the dining hall together. The first time we ever hung out outside of German and after-German lunch, we met to do German homework, but ended up talking until sunrise, sitting on a couch in a laundry room. We started to see each other more often outside of class after that.

I fell for him quickly, but he was extricating himself from another relationship and then pursuing some other girls. Fortunately for him I was patient, and fortunately for me he came around. We didn't get together until May of freshman year (although according to all of my friends, it was obvious for a long time before then that it was coming).

4. Has anything supernatural/paranormal ever happened to you?
Every time a member of my father's family dies, their close living relatives have strange encounters with birds. Mine was sort of a long time coming, but during my commencement ceremony, a hawk with a snake in its talons flew right over the bleachers where we were all sitting. That was a fortuitous omen that my dad often talked about (it's from Mexico's foundation myth), and it's difficult for me to believe that there wasn't something of him in it.

5. What's something that you've done that you never want to do again?
Read anything written by Fredric Jameson or Karl Marx.
