A friend back at Santa Cruz asked in passing during a conversation this evening whether I'd signed up for fall quarter's classes yet. Surprised, I asked whether that were possible, and he informed me that yes it was.
So here I am on my.ucsc, looking at all these familiar names of classes taking place in these familiar buildings, picking classes to take during the first quarter of my last year at UCSC. And I'm doing this while sitting on a couch in my room in Berlin, halfway through the last semester of my only year at die Freie Universität, and I'm feeling quite nostalgic for my forest campus and my Jack Baskin Auditorium and my avocado and egg sandwiches at Joe's and my discussion sections at awkward and inconvenient times of day.
Most of the time it really weirds me out that in only two months I'll be hopping a plane and leaving Europe behind, but other times, like this one, I'm filled with nothing but hope and glowing anticipation.
nostalgia,
berlin
