Is it me, or is the music for this ad really inappropriate?

For those of you who can't see it for whatever reason, it's an advert from John Lewis showing scenes from a woman's life, starting with her as a baby and ending when she's an old woman with grandchildren, all edited together so it looks like one long tracking shot or whatever they're called. And it's all very clever and very moving - except that the music they've chosen for it is a cover of Billy Joel's 'Always a Woman' (sung by Fyfe Dangerfield, apparently.) Which goes like this:

She can kill with a smile, she can wound with her eyes,
She can ruin your faith with her casual lies,
And she only reveals what she wants you to see.
She hides like a child but she's always a woman to me.

She can lead you to love, she can take you or leave you,
She can ask for the truth but she'll never believe you,
And she'll take what you give her as long as it's free,
Yeah she steals like a thief but she's always a woman to me...

She is frequently kind and she's suddenly cruel,
She can do as she pleases, she's nobody's fool,
But she can't be convicted, she's earned her degree,
And the most she will do is throw shadows at you
But she's always a woman to me.

...I know there's a long history of inappropriate music in ads, but the lyrics aren't normally as distinct or prominent as they are in this one. Did no one listen to the song, really? The 'ruin your faith with her casual lies' bit comes when she's still a little girl, wtf.
