Slings
Why do people find babywearing so objectionable? Seriously, what's up? I've had a lot of positive comments about my sling (mostly about how beautiful it is - which is true! - and how happy J looks in it) but I've had my share of negative comments, mainly in the schoolyard! I've had the same woman offer (on three different occasions) the use of the "pram" (what a great word!) she no longer has a need for. I've had another mother ask me (over and over for the last two months) if I wouldn't be more comfortable without the sling. And yesterday, when I walked M to a party and didn't want J to fall asleep so I used the stroller instead - yet another "yummy mummy" smiled enthusiastically and said, with gusto, "So, you finally ditched the sling!"
