It took about a year, and a few ups and downs but I made it. I was close to this target profit about 2 months ago but the market volatility really toppled me (luckily I didn't sell at the low points!). The next few months should be interesting as the market does it's predictable small swing down, large swing up, and then way large swing down throughout the holiday season; at least, Best Buy stock heavily relies on this schema!
Taking into account my average invest balance, I would say thats about 12.5% gains. That is separate from the 9-10% gains I realized from selling my Employee Best Buy Stock last year. I also have not been keeping track of my BBY 401k and would just like to roll it over to an IRA (and NO I don't think I'm going to do ROTH).
I am by no means an expert, but it shocks me that I don't think I know a single person that invests directly in the stock market.. That's very sad to me. This is the perfect age to try that kind of experimenting and it's one of the best places for your money. If you want to talk about it, you know how to reach me.
