Having a radar detector in your car is almost like wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle -- you feel safer so you do dumber things that you think you may get away with. When you don't have that defense to fall back on, you are more aware of your surroundings because you feel less safe. It takes skill to maintain awareness and not fall prey to a false sense of security while using a preceptory enhancing or protecting device. Also be mindful of these implications with our national security.
