To wrap-up my birth month, I've listed a random assortment of successes/failures/observations/otherwise from my 32nd year:
  1. Completed 2nd draft of 2nd novel
  2. Bought 1st new computer (ever), the Toshiba netbook Byron
  3. 1st time clamming (also 1st class through Newton Adult Education)
  4. 1st Boston Center for Adult Education class (promote your blog)
  5. Attended many dance parties, two while ill (only death, dismemberment, or bees can keep me away)
  6. Walked out of a work meeting in protest
  7. Another successful year of National Poetry Month Poemcards (36 sent)
  8. Lost two uncles and one uncle-in-law-ish
  9. Completed an assortment of my 101 goals
  10. Struggled with my work-life balance
  11. Hosted two really, really successful potlucks
  12. Experienced a money meltdown
  13. Enjoyed weekend brunch on a farm with friends Patricia and Yutien
  14. Had my first experience with a push mower
  15. Collected all of my favorite co-counseling partner's friends, like Pokemon: Ian, Caro, Ashley, Lauren, other assorted roommates who cheerfully wave at me on the street
  16. Despite efforts not to, similarly collected all of David's friends: Adam Able, Andrew, Sage
  17.  Approached conversations with my mother with new honesty, curiosity, and generosity
  18. 1st experience with an arbitrator
  19. 1st stolen laptop (work computer, stolen from my office)
  20. Grew more comfortable as supervisor
  21. Attacked on my bike by children
  22. Three seasons of beautiful sunsets from the BU and MIT bridges over the Charles
  23. Realized how much I love to inspire
  24. Kept up with my favorite blogs: SouleMama and Chookooloonks and Shareable
  25. Made mix-CDs for my father and brother
  26. "Discovered" (a la Christopher Columbus) and fell in love with Regina Spektor and The Weepies/Deb Talan
  27. Got panniers for my bike, love them!
  28. Celebrated nine years with the boy by beating him at a footrace beside a health food store in Keane, NH (he won the thumbwars)
  29. Guided my family away from a potential argument by seeking everyone's opinion on a subject and reporting back the results
  30. Attended a workshop about using dialogue to address big, complicated issues
  31. Received hand-knit gifts
  32. Noticed an increase in group-hugs
Bring it, 33! (But not too quickly, and a little less force, thank you. And how about some lemonade? Really, age 33, you could be more accommodating.)
