Bit late on updating. Let's see.

Friday:
Went to see The Count of Monte Cristo with Carla, Crispin Freeman, his wife, and others. The whole play was like a musical without musical numbers, if that makes any sense. We sat in the front row so we were frequently leaning back and tucking in our feet to avoid various swordfight and dance sequences. Crispin's brother Clark played Edmond Dantes and did a very good job, though Crispin and Izzy had to fight the urge to trip him when he got too close. Fernand was played as a mustachio-twirling villain but did a good turn, even though he was significantly shorter than everyone else. Caderousse was the best, followed by Dumas/Abbe' Faria. The actor who played Albert was adorable beyond belief and also did a good job. The actress who played Mercedes seemed to speak her lines going for projection rather than actual acting, which weakened the program. Crispin was also sound designer for the play, and during intermission we bumped into Patrick Seitz (the voice of Luke Valentine in Hellsing) who worked in projection.

This marked my first usage of a metered parking space. I had no change so I had to run to various eating establishments to exchange bills for loose coinage during intermission.

Afterwards we hung out with Crispin, Izzy, Monica, and other people whom I don't know nor whose names I gathered at the nearby Denny's. Izzy preached to me about the glories of french fries dipped in milkshakes (which I confess I tried for the first time--they're ok) Crispin ranted about George Lucas and we all had to shake our heads at the unbelievable entity which is Neopets. A good time was had by all.

On the way home, a semi next to me started shooting sparks from underneath. That kept me awake the rest of the drive.

Saturday:
Got to sleep in! Afterwards got myself a new bed courtesy of Ikea (cue Fight Club quotes here) and spent the rest of the day assembling it. It's very high. I hit my head on the smoke detector twice. My room is very spacious now.

Sunday:
Not much to say, went to Church no. 3 for the second time, this time made it to the college and career class. It's a nice place, and though I'm not feeling any particular fire, getting a whole lot out of the messages or making friends with a snap of my fingers (actually, that's true--I can't snap my fingers), it's pleasant enough and I'm willing to stay a bit longer in order to make sure.

Monday (today):
Power went out. As soon as it went back on I jumped online to post this. Priorities, priorities.
