It takes a lot to assert deism in my opinion. I honestly do not know anyone who actively maintains such a belief. But if anyone here does, I'm interested in hearing your perspective.

An assertion of theism is merely refuting atheism and it does not have to argue the specific properties or nature of God -- only God's existence. I do think it was good to point deism out though. It is definitely a viable alternative to Christianity.
