exquisite...

in the past months or so, i've been trying to make a conscious effort to appreciate the little things and occurances that take place in my daily routines. surprisingly, it's been helping me keep a fresh and positive attitude. and since i've been doing so, it almost feels like every day is a good day. here's the short list of things that made my day what it was; an 'exquisite' one (lol my word of the day, which is another thing i wanna try and have going forward)

- i woke up thinking that i'd have to take the bus to work, which would usually entail me having to wake up an extra hour earlier to take into account the 45 minute bus ride. as i got out of the bed and looked out my window, my dad's car was sitting on the driveway. i proceeded to relax for an extra half hour in bed, knowing that i had a little bit more time to get ready for work. phn bonus+1

- i briefly spoke to a couple of cute girls in my store. they turned out to be there for their second interviews. after speaking to my manager, she revealed that those 'second interviews' pretty much mean those applicants are already hired. she just uses them as a formality to get their hiring paperwork done. therefore, these two girls will be starting this sunday, and i now have two more pieces of eyecandy to gawk at while at work. phn bonus+2

- i found $1.01 on the floor in our staff room as i was getting ready to leave work. phn bonus+1

- i've had a couple of store credits (one from sears, and the other from old navy) that i've been holding onto for a while (the results from a couple of returned birthday gifts heh). i decided to head to the mall closer to my home (since the mall i work at sucks in comparison) to see if i can make use of them. i haven't shopped at old navy in quite a while, since there was one point where i didn't like anything they came out with. i noticed that this year, there have been a few things that have caught my eye. i managed to snag a nice, comfortable hoodie (a slighty muted baby blue) to add to my extensive collection of colored hoodies. phn bonus+1. also, it was priced cheaper than the sign that was next to it (the price i read was for their graphic hoodies), so i paid less than i thought it would cost. phn bonus +0.5. and this was all on top of this 20% coupon i ripped out of a magazine i found in our staff room before i left work. phn bonus+1

- sears is a store that i rarely enter, much less shop from. walking in, i had low expectations that i'd find something worth purchasing. they apparently don't have a movie/music section, so a simple cd or dvd was out of the question. clothes? meh. electronics? didn't want to spend more money than i had to. my one last glimmer of hope; the toy department. probably the smallest toy section i've ever seen in a department store, and despite it's size, i managed to find something that excited me to no end: The Batboat™: Hunt for Killer Croc™. these Batman Lego sets are fucking cool. i've had this idea of collecting little Lego dudes, and what better way to start than with fucking BATMAN and fucking KILLER CROC. i only wish the other sets were more reasonably priced (the Batcave comes with not only Batman, but fucking Mr.Freeze, the Penguin, AND Robin!). phn bonus+2

- the total money spent out of my actual pocket for these two purchases: $1.79. phn bonus+2

that brings the phn bonus total to 8.5. i'd say that's a pretty good rating for a random wednesday. i think i'll rate my days this way from now on!
