Soo... for about a week now, I've been ill. I went to the ER and they shoved a needle in my arm, drew some blood, ran tests, left the "flexible catheter" in my arm, did X-rays of my stomach, and ended up only prescribing me Zantac. This took about 5 hours.
And I had the catheter in for about 2 1/2 of them. The nurse saw me holding my arm erect after taking my blood and telling me "We're just gonna leave that in just in case you need to get some medicine later", and she told me "oh, it's a flexible catheter, you can move your arm".
... There's a frickin' needle in my arm lady, why am I gonna move it?
Later, when I had to get the X-rays done, I had to change into some of the nice ER gown-ish pants. They were super comfy... I really wanted to steal them on my way out. But yeah, considering I was wearing denim, this was a hard feat to acomplish with a needle in my arm, especially since they were draw-string pants.
Anyway, the doctor gave me a prescription for Zantac and gave me a lot of warnings about ulcers. I get the impression that I'm getting close to an ulcer or something.
Anyway, I'm still sick, can't eat much of anything still, and I've already missed a week of class and work. I can't miss much more, but the doctor told me I should go back if the pains get worse, which they have. Not entirely sure how well this will all work out, especially sinc eI'm really not eating much of anything. Thank goodness for all the fat my body stored up!
And all I have to say to that doctor is "What, no foreplay?"
In happier and less graphic news, I got my compie back. It came with a remote control that can be easily stored inside the computer, and it also has a MUCH better battery life than the old one did. On top of all that, it's essentially the same model as the old one (17" Widescreen and all) except faster. Soooo I made out fairly well with this. I still would've preferred the $2000 gift certificate. The guy who was working the 'geek squad' desk was the first one I've ever met who was REALLY a geek. The last few guys I've seen there were actually pretty cool.
