So the past 10 days have been spent in Florida with the crew team. It was definitely a nicer way to spend spring break than rowing up here in cold New Haven, but I am really starting to miss home. My grandmother drove over from the east coast (we were in Sarasota on the west coast) one day to see me, and we went out to breakfast and to the beach which was nice. Most days in Florida I would wake up at 5:10, run over to the launch site, about a 12-minute 1.4 mile run from the hotel, and we would get on the water. We were back around 9 and waited for brunch at 10:30. Then we would hang out all day and sometimes take the vans to the beach or the mall. One day I went to the gun range, which was very weird and I felt like a complete redneck. I fired a glock and an ar-15, which is basically an m-16. Anyway we would have an afternoon practice around 4:30 and then dinner at 7:30. I was able to lose a decent amount of weight, but still not enough. I need another 4-5 pounds this next week. Today we raced Trinity which went ok- we just practiced with them and raced them during the practice pieces. It has been freezing cold out though, which is not much fun.

Is anybody doing anything interesting this summer? I'm torn between going back to camp, going to study abroad (maybe Israel), and staying home. I sort of want a casino internship, because I feel like that would be the best of both worlds, being able to stay home while at the same time building a resume and getting work experience. On the other hand, I never had a problem keeping my weight down in camp and I would be able to eat whatever I wanted because we walk everywhere, which is awesome. I can't see myself not going back there, but who knows. It sucks not having been home for a while, because you just want to go home, but once you're there for a few weeks you realize that its boring compared to college. I have no idea what I want to do.

Its Satruday night, I'm exhausted, and I am definitely not going out. I haven't been to bed later than 11 in 2 weeks. Goodnight.
